How can I get my newborn to sleep in her Moses basket? | Mummahood

by Ruth Sutherland

Babies often don’t like sleeping away from their care-givers. They want to be close to you as this is what they are used to when in the womb.

However there are a few things that you can try. Start by putting her in for short periods of time and keeping him/her with you initially so that they feel reassured by your presence. You may find just keeping your hand on their tummy before gradually withdrawing, may help them to settle. Another effective tip includes warming the moses basket by putting a hot water bottle into it before you place your baby down and putting a comforter in there which smells of you.
